Okay, so I've tried about 15 times to get these to post. I have one of when Matt and Mom Mom first got here, but it won't post. I finally got the one of Matt holding Jack to post and I'm giving up on the other until we get to Utah this weekend. Maybe it will work at my parents' house with their faster internet.

Mom Mom Videos
I couldn't get these videos to load when I put up the pictures from this weekend. So hopefully it works now. There's a good chance that only a handful of people will find these interesting. So if you don't know who Mom Mom or Matt are, then you might want to just skip over these...

Oh Oh Oh
Jack's favorite noise to make is, "Oh, oh, oh." He'll just be hanging out on his own on the boppy or on our bed saying "Oh, oh, oh" over and over again. He's so advanced to already be saying words. What a smarty.
Hard to Wait it is...
We finished Jack's costume last night and it's just too cute to wait until Halloween to blog about it. He's a cute little Jedi. Pictures of Princess Leia and Han Solo will be posted next week, so stay tuned. Though, I'm sure we won't be nearly as cute as Baby Yoda.

Jack's Popular
Baby Jack has so many people to love him and dote on him. In his seven weeks of life, he's only had two maybe three weekends that he hasn't been kissed and squeezed and loved by grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins. This weekend he got to spend lots of time with Adam's grandma, or GG as Jack knows her. She flew in from Daytona this weekend and just loved all the time she got to spend with little Jack. They say grandchildren are way more fun than your own kids. So if that's true, then great grandkids must rock.
Uncle Matt got to come visit too. Jack smiled at him A LOT when they first met.
Matt was too funny for Jack. It wore him out.
Love at first sight.

Hey, Mom, Do That Thing Where You Touch My Face!
Jack really likes when we play with his cheeks/chin/nose. Or maybe he just likes when we say "awudda wudda wudda." There's really no way to know which he's laughing at.

What? Like it's Hard?

Fixed it.
Growing Like a Weed
When we first brought Jack home from the hospital, none of his 0-3 clothes fit him. Slowly, he's starting to fill them out. This rock star outfit was one of the biggest ones. Six weeks ago I thought he'd never fit into this.
Punkin
Something I neglected to acknowledge and support our first Halloween together in 2008 was the fact that Adam loves pumpkins. He loves to have one on our doorstep. He loves to cook with them. And most of all he LOVES to carve them. He takes a lot of time to sketch out what he wants it to look like and then with great precision, he draws the face on the pumpkin and finally carves.

This year's pumpkin is named "The Viper."
Jack was screaming during most of the designing and guts emptying parts. But when he finally went to sleep I managed to produce this little beauty.

Needless to say, our kids won't be coming to me to help them with the pumpkin carving thing.
Mornings with Jack
Jack is most definitely a morning person, not so much a night owl. Every morning he wakes up in the best mood. He'll just smile and coo and babble at you. Sometimes during morning feedings he just stops to look up at me and give me a big grin. We're quickly finding out that evenings are not his best time, but mornings are a different story. He'll just hang out in the middle of the bed while I get ready and loves to stare around.
Morning time Jack Jack.

Witch's Brew. Goblin Snot. Monster Guts. Asparagus Soup.
The name for it is undecided. But what we have decided is that the delicious meal we had last night is going to be our family's traditional Halloween meal. And I want your family to have the option to steal it and use it for your Halloween meal too. It's super easy to make and sooo tasty. It turns out all green and spooky and Halloweeny and fun. Find the recipe here (Note: The reviews said the sour cream was a bit too tangy. So I just did a spoonful of sour cream and then added heavy cream to taste to get the creamy factor. Then I made homemade croutons to garnish with.)

Cool Kid
Jack was the cool kid at church today. We bought this super cute Puma outfit at the used baby store in Idaho Falls. The set came with two Puma onesies, pants, and a bib. I love finding name brand stuff, barely used for super cheap. Adam pulled Jack out of the carseat in Sunday School and the comments started flowing. All the ladies in Relief Society loved him. "He's a doll." "I can't stop staring at him." "He's the most adorable baby I've ever seen." etc. etc. etc. I know that this all sounds very gloaty of me, but really it's just the truth. Science backs me up. The Jones-Drake combo of chromosomes is perfection.
He's trying to think of ways to become cuter, but to no avail. It just doesn't get any cuter.

Video!
We got this cute little hand held camcorder in the mail yesterday from Bob and Linda.
It's a really fun toy. It takes nice HD video aaaand.... It means lots of Jack video! Here's the first of many. (Disclaimer: Please ignore my annoying voice. It's always bad to hear your own voice on camera, but it's even worse because I talk to him in a super high pitched voice to get him to smile.)
It's a bit long. The smiles are all at the beginning, but I kept recording for Kelsey's sake because of the ghost he was looking at. :)

Graduation!
This is my fourth post of the day. Hopefully it will be my last, but who knows! I just got some good news that I wanted to share... I've been accepted to the University Studies major! I'm really excited about this. My major used to be English Education, which meant that I would have to do student teaching in order to graduate. Obviously a newborn makes that hard. So I was just planning on leaving Rexburg twelve credits shy of a degree. As happy as I am that Jack came when he did, I was feeling bummed that I was going to put in all that time and then walk away with no degree. With this new major Adam and I will both graduate in April. We're going to get Jack a BYU-Idaho onesie for that day. Can you imagine the AWESOME picture we're going to get? Both of us in our cap and gown with our cute little boy. I'm really excited for that day... then real, post-Rexburg life begins.
Ducks Revisited
Since the last time we went to Nature Park we've been saving up old tortillas and bread to take to the ducks. It's a good thing we saved up a lot because we were bombarded with customers. We thought we'd take them a good meal before they flew south. They had the same thoughts I guess, because they no longer felt like being passive about the food. If one got a big piece that they couldn't gulp down right away, another duck was there to steal it out of his mouth. I paused the feeding frenzy and looked over at Adam then just started laughing because of how ridiculous of a scene it was.
There must have been at least sixty of them.
This pushy guy came pecking at my thigh when I ran out of food.
Don't worry. The baby was safe in his car seat during all of this. We wouldn't want hungry fowl to gulp him down in one bite.
Self Defense
Jack hates the ball syringe snot sucker thing. But I still come at him every morning with it and he screams and screams! Yesterday he learned that he's not defenseless. He kept putting his fists up to protect his nose from me.
And here's a better shot of that cute robot hoodie he's wearing. This is just before he and I went on a walk to Gee's later that day.
Play Time
Jack is growing up before our very eyes. He's holding his head up really well and he's starting to love interaction. For the twenty minutes between nap time and feeding, he loves to be talked to. Usually all it takes is a really high pitched, "Hi, baby!" to make him smile at you. He'll just smile and laugh for twenty minutes, then suddenly he becomes aware of his starvation and let's out a scream with a really sad frowny face.
I was saying something really clever and witty like, "Hi, Baby Jack!"
Holding his head up
Playing with Dad.
