Photo Dump

This is what we call a photo dump: a bunch of random pictures which combined will give a small glimpse into our boring/fun/normal lives. I'll add minimal narration with this one, since a photo dump is really just about the photos.

To begin, Jack was being really cute one morning at breakfast. It's pretty hit and miss these days for whether you'll get a smiley face picture or an emotionless stare. He had some smiles to distribute that morning, I guess.

Next, Adam brought me home some vinyl finger nail cover thingys. So I had cool nails for a few days. Our family camping trip made sure these didn't last too long, though.
One night we went swimming. (Many nights we go swimming, but one night we took pictures.)

And one night Jack only made it half way while getting undressed.

Whelp, consider those photos DUMPED! So, you see, if you come visit we can give each other manicures cause I still have a lot of sticker things left, we can go swimming, and we can walk around with our shirts on our heads. Cause that's what life's like at our house...

We Love Daddy!

Jack and I did a pretty good job this Father's Day, I must say. But then we did pretty great last year too. I guess we've got the hang of this whole Father's Day thing. This year Jack and I surprised Adam with breakfast in bed and a basket full of grilling goodies.

I made Adam this one of a kind custom grilling apron. When he tried it on, Jack decided he should be in the picture too.
Then he got to try out all his new grilling stuff: new spices, a grill protector pan, grilling Pam,
And, of course, the new apron. Looks pretty good, huh?
We just love him. It's fun to spoil him on occasion because he deserves it so much. He's such a great daddy. He works hard for us, but plays hard with us too. When he gets home he's always ready to play and have fun. And when he comes home to a sad, sick guy like he did on Monday, he's just as ready to cradle him, snuggle with him, and feed him his sippy cup like a newborn. :) He's the best.
Love you, Adam! Thanks for being so dang awesome!

Should I be flattered?

They say imitation is the best form of flattery. I think money is the best form of flattery, though. I like money. I've been doing a lot with our etsy shop lately and have been having lots of great success. I just came across this, though: a copy cat!

Here's my original design:
 And here's their copycat one.

To be fair, they did post a link to my shop in their blog post. So that could bring in good traffic. But still.... Oh well. I guess all is fair in the crafting world. I've copied my fair share of ideas from other people.

Music Boys

The first of many duets by the two of these guys I bet. This is what they do when I'm getting ready for church. Check out the video here.

Family Camping

It wasn't fair that Jack and Adam had both got to go camping already and I've been left behind both times. So this week I decided we'd go camping. It was great family fun. We went to the same place that Adam and Jack went for Father's and Son's, which was around Virgin, Utah. The first order of business was to go down to the creek and throw rocks into it. Jack would have stayed there all day and night if we had let him. We were always having to stop him from trying to walk down the hill by himself to get to the water.

He kept trying to pick up the biggest, heaviest rock possible.

Jack spent a lot of time in his stroller, especially as we were building the fire and after he had attempted toppling down the hill one too many times. It made for a good restraint to keep him in one place. Luckily, he really loves being in his Buzz stroller so he didn't even know that we were trying to strap him down.

View of our camp site from the river.
That night we gathered around the campfire, listened to Adam play guitar, and roasted marshmallows.

This face just sums up the whole camping experience. Filthy dirty, but sooo happy!
The next morning we drank OJ, ate our tin foil breakfasts, and roasted more "breakfast" marshmallows cause we're grown-ups and get to do what we want.

And... here are a few of the scenery pics we took of our camp site.

It was a great camping spot. It was really fun to get out and camp together as a family. Camping is pretty much all Jack's been talking about since we got back. He's a naturey kind of guy. Now we just need to get him caught up on sleep. He's pretty pretty sleep deprived the last couple of days. All in the name of good family fun, right?

Shuckin' Corn and Ridin' Carousels

Two activities that just scream summer time. And boy oh boy it's really starting to feel nice and summery down here. We're starting to get a small understanding of what July and August will be like. We're over 100 degrees many days, but I'm not hating it yet. I actually kind of like it. Summer nights are just the best thing there is. Last week we had a fun summer night. We went to a splash pad/wading pool where Jack played around. And then we thought we'd be really nice parents and take Jack on the carousel that runs in the summer time. Jack and I rode it on our date night when Adam was gone camping and he loved it. This time he did not love it, though. He kind of freaked out.

He lightened up a little but still ended up having to switch to the seats behind us instead of the horses and he didn't even like that very much. I don't know. Can't ever tell what this kid will like.

He must have some kind of aversion to rides now. Because on Friday we were at Shoe Carnival and they had one of those coin operated rides. It was a truck and I let Jack climb up on it. He was loving it until I found a quarter and made the ride start up. I guess we'll just hang on to our spare change for a few months and try him again next year.

Over Memorial Day we went up to Midvale. I failed to take many pictures but I stole some from Lisa and Christie, the photo addicts. Some of the highlights included shucking corn,

visiting cemeteries,

snitching birthday cake

trying to stay warm in the cold northern Utah weather,

and staying up past bedtime just cause of shear cuteness.
