This month Jack turned into a big boy. I'm not sure precisely when it happened. It seemed to occur overnight. But he is not to be mistaken for a baby any longer.
-He walks like a maniac all the time and recently has even figured out how to do it with shoes on.
-He stands from sitting without any support and with a great deal of grace.
-He loves to talk on the phone. For his birthday he got an Elmo phone and talks on it like he's the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
-He mimics every sound he hears. He says vroom for a car and even mimics certain bodily functions.
-His words list grows everyday. He's always trying to copy words that he hears us saying. Some of his most frequent words include: banana, ball, duck, no no, nose, oh, dude, and shoe. Ball is by far his loudest and most frequent word. He screams "ball!" everywhere, especially in the grocery store. Anything semi-round is a ball, like melons, apples, rocks, and beads.
-First thing in the morning Jack always wants to talk about noses. When we go in to get him from his crib the first thing he'll do is grab your nose and say, "no."
-He likes to do Eskimo kisses, which we call 'noses.'
-He LOVES to brush his teeth (he has four of them to brush.) He's got a Cookie Monster toothbrush and some delicious toothpaste. He loves to watch himself in the mirror as I brush for him and then he cries when we have to put the toothbrush away.
-He is completely weened, which makes me very happy. Now that he's not nursing he's been able to go the entire night without waking up even once. That also makes me super happy.
-He's constantly on the move and always trying to figure something out. For this reason it's a good thing this is the last month for pictures. He's fully mobile now, so he can't be bothered with posing for a picture. This month I managed to snap a couple pics before he got away.
But then he just wanted to do a lot of this:
And, of course, plenty of this:
A year ago it seemed like we were a lifetime away from this point. But unsurprisingly time has flown by and Jack has grown into a big boy with lots of energy and a great personality. What else is there to say? We just love him to pieces and have a ton of fun with him every day.

He's such a fun little man. Love him to pieces.
ReplyDeleteI just wish we were closer so I could see him more often.
Love, GG
BAAALL BALL BAAALLLLLL! Man I love this guy. He is such a big boy.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like such big boy when he's up and walking around like that!
ReplyDeleteHe really needs a sand box with shovels, rakes, maybe a tonka earth mover etc. And of course a beach ball..
